Great Time in Arlington, Oregon school!

Monday March 10 I went to the big city of Arlington in Oregon (500 population) to work in the elementary-middle school. I have been to 40 schools so far – mostly larger schools – but I love going to smaller schools. I talk about the process of getting a book published and give them tips on writing. I had 5 classes. Small schools very seldom get authors in and it is great for them to know authors are just ‘normal’ people like me. I had a great time there…impressed with that little school.

Just a side note: I had foot surgery and I am wearing a boot. It is not painful anymore, but it sort of upstaged my talk. The kids were interested what I did to my foot. On one toe I have a pin sticking out with a green ball on the end of it. It looks pretty bad. One of the kids asked me if I had my toe pierced and did I just like green. I laughed and said, “Yeah, all I need now is a tattoo!”
